Friday 11 March 2011: Are we rich?

378/365: ... asks Felix... 'this is the most money I've ever seen!'. But we're definitely not rich and we don't even have that particular fistful of dollars pounds anymore because it's gone to pay for the 'new to us' car which we collected this morning. Ouch!

Well, not really ouch too much because I needed to get a car so that I could get myself to and from my job which starts three weeks today. And it's weird to have the additional freedom of a car again. I'm almost feeling a bit lightheaded with it all and tempted to just go for a drive to see how that feels. The wince-inducing cost of petrol, however, removes all such urges... so the new car ('it's not as rubbish as I thought it would be' - quote from Felix this afternoon despite him having been super excited about it coming yesterday!) will sit on the driveway until needed.

By the way, I'm really sorry about how dull my journal has become. I haven't got anything exciting to say other than recording the 'ordinariness of life' and the views and comments are... naturally enough... ebbing away. Anyway, I just wanted to say 'sorry' and 'thank you' to the people who do still drop by! I really appreciate your comments when it's all kinda dullsville! I'm going to carry on blipping, but I might well turn the comments off for a wee while as maybe that's the solution to this? Dunno! We'll see.

Anyhoo... other stuff today can be summarised as follows:

Car collected
Drives fine
Big relief
Out for lunch
Chatty meeting
Home and headachy
Kids collected
Bickering and grumpy
End of week-ish.
Done.
