Saturday 12 March 2011: Japanese Anemone
A gentle blush of a sunset this evening. Lasts for such a short time this evening light but adds such a rich depth to colours of nature.
A heavy hearted day with the information about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan filling our radio and television. We have had a team of Japanese search and rescue persons helping out in Christchurch (and some of the Christchurch victims were Japanese). Now they have to go home to a devastation unbelievably monstrous.
Just hope that this is the end of this period of shaking round the Pacific Rim although I will not be surprised if California gets a bit of a rattle and roll in the near future. The images of the Tsunami sweeping across the Japanese landscape are breathtakingly surreal, and the thought of a nuclear meltdown does nothing to calm the nerves.
