Saturday 12 March 2011: Yellow
Sad and sobering news. The sheer scale of it is just bewildering and too much to comprehend. It makes everything else seem very frivolous.
Cold and crisp here, a sprinkling of snow on the mountains. Laura from Germany has arrived - our first Wwoofer (world wide workers on organic farms) of the year. She's lovely and has already been beavering away in the polytunnel. Tonight Kelly, wwoofer number 2, is arriving. She has been staying with some friends of ours and we'll have supper together. Menu: spinach and feta tart, new potatoes and mint (from the garden!!), mixed salad, followed by rhubarb crumble; lots of wine and craic.
I have great swathes of daffs in the garden and I blipped this vaseful as it looked so pretty with the light behind it - I liked all the different colour combinations. And I'd forgotten how strong daffs smell.
A spot of Coldplay should go well with this :)
