Sunday 13 March 2011: Towards Kerry

A very enjoyable evening - eating, chatting and playing pictionary!! How to draw clingfilm in any language is difficult, especially when it's called something totally different in American (surround wrap) and German (frischhaltefolie).

Fabulous bright and breezy day. We took Laura and Kelli down to the end of the peninsula and walked to the lighthouse. The colours were superb - so many different blues. It was a bit busy though, we saw at least 10 other people and Bernie had opened her cafe - a cafe really at the end of the world, you can sit and look out across miles of ocean towards Newfoundland!

The girls are hard workers! They have already dug over two beds, added compost and planted onions and garlic!

This view looks out from the end of the Sheepshead towards the Beara peninsula and on to Kerry. The lake is a mysterious one, always dark blue and filled in the left corner with reeds that change colour with the seasons. It looks deep and cold.

As write a strange thing is happening - bright sunshine and hail - big bits!
