Kinda Horrigans

Sunday 13 March 2011: World apart...

380/365: ... well... actually she was just sitting on a folded up mattress as Felix enthusiastically helped Nick to strip the wallpaper from our bedroom... with both little helpers naked. As ever. Getting them dressed in a morning is a battle anyway, but at the weekend I give up for as long as I can possibly manage. She does look miserable in this shot though, doesn't she! A bit of interesting light coming through the window and the perspective changes completely.

I did have a dither about shots today. I kinda wanted to post another one of Felix and Maddy peeling off great strips of wallpaper. But I'm sure you don't want to see their little naked bottoms! Though I preferred that shot, I'm going with this one where you can't even see Maddy Moo's face. Not that my daughter's particularly ugly or 'owt... but... oh... grief... hole... digging... can't... get... out... help...

*pretends the above never got written and blusters onwards*

Other than wallpaper stripping and general decorating, today has been another 'at home day'. Which the kids always love. They're such home-bodies. We did go to the shops to pick up a couple of bits (and some plants accidentally fell into my trolley), but other than that we've been here. Made some chocolate brownies which were yum. Plus, I've dug the garden (yet *more* weeding), planted some potatoes and the fruit canes (raspberries, red currants and black currants) and generally worn myself out. The kids turned up to 'help' just as I was shakily packing away the spade and fork with my jelly-esque arms and heading inside to collapse. Their help ended up being them making dens and playing in the undergrowth until Maddy crippled herself by falling over and is now doing her best dying duck impression wailing 'I can't wa-a-a-a-a-alk anymo-o-o-o-ore' every so often.

Not a great deal else. I took a boring photo of some crocuses but haven't blipped them because Nick always declares that flower photos are boring! Plus, I just can't get their 'Spring-ness' right and it was such a beautiful afternoon after a grey start that it doesn't seem fair that I've bodged it for them. Poor old crocuses. A flower photographer I am not!

Better go poke the dinner. Roasted veggies and couscous. Hopefully both monkeys will be too hungry to moan about it too much.

PS But I wouldn't hold your breath!
PPS Am off to Gloucestershire for the day tomorrow.
