Monday 4 February 2008: Green Belt
This one is for Canterbury - I know he gets excited about this sort of thing.
Went for a wander in a different direction than usual today - up a track I've been meaning to explore for a while. It started up a lovely wooded lane, then out into open fields, and then bizarrely through the middle of a quarry.
It was obviously a right-of-way, with fences on each side to keep you out of the quarry, but then the track made a wee bridge over this very long conveyor belt - which I assume takes the sand/gravel /whatever out to somewhere a bit nearer the road.
It was quite odd to find a very industrial artifact right in the middle of open country.
