Saturday 12 March 2011: Libyans of Manchester
The Libyan community were out in force in Manchester City centre today. I spoke to these kids as I wondered if they were from the region and just showing their support or actually Libyan themselves. These guys told me that everyone there was Libyan and worried about their families at home. There were a good thirty of forty of them, mostly dads and their kids.
They had no petition, no megaphone-just signs, letting us know how they feel; worried, helpless and in shock at what's going on back home.
I hope they get what they want. We can't do anything to stop an earthquake and a tsunami but we can do something about murder.
