Tax Form

I took the day off from work today. The trains are limited and the government is asking us to keep energy consumption to a minimum to stop the blackouts. The supermarkets are pretty much empty. There has been no fresh food deliveries and all the dried stuff has been bought already. You can really see what people are prepared and are not prepared to eat in an emergency. For example, all the instant curry has been bought, apart from the one brand that isn't so popular.

In our house we aren't so concerned about the food situation because my girlfriend's family grow and send us big bags of rice every few months so if Tokyo runs out of food we can at least eat that.

So, on the one hand, the situation is rather unusual, and on the other hand, it is as if nothing happened because the tax deadline is tomorrow. The word is that the deadline will not be moved for Tokyo residents so we had to sit this afternoon and fill in the forms. Fun times!

To be honest, I just don't know whether to panic or pretend nothing happened.

The part of the form in the photo is where you put your earthquake insurance premiums...
