Thursday 17 March 2011: Inside a Cargo Tank
To give you an impression how a cargo tank looks from the inside. This is two starboard, a coated tank . The coating can withstand a wide range of chemicals, oils, fats and edible oil.
The chief officer was so kind to act as statue to give you an impression of the dimensions. The volume at 98% capacity is 366.9 cubic meters.
Technical:
On the bottom of the tank you will see the heatingcoils. This to prevent some cargoes from freezing, others to keep the viscosity low.
