Red rock...

A dull old day weather wise and time poor, but thankfully found a shot.
The rust coloured lichen growing on the rock in this photo is prolific at the moment, and very bright....it's as though paprika has been sprinkled.

Coming back I noticed a very large balloon in the air, thinking it was an escaped weather balloon....but no.
I found people at its source,so had to stop and ask.
Attached to the balloon was a net impregnated with pheremones.
Scientists from Sydney Uni were conducting an experiment to discover how many Feral Bees are in the National Park, and their potential impact on Indigenous bee populations.
(i took several shots of the apparatus, but it just looked like a balloon in the sky with a net attached,so didn't go with it.)...
The experiment will continue throughout Autumn,so will keep checking it out...
