Sunday 20 March 2011: Birkenhead to Brooklyn
Well Manhatten really, but I like a bit of alliteration.
Birkenhead Park was opened in 1847 and was designed by Joseph Paxton. Although not the first public park it was the first in Britain to be publicly funded.
It is generally acknowledged that, after visiting Birkenhead Park in 1850, Fredrick Olmstead incorporated many of the features he saw there when he designed New York's Central Park.
The park enjoyed an extensive £11 million renovation in recent years.
In this image the Roman Boathouse and Swiss Bridge.
A few more images from today and some moon images from yesterday.
