Kinda Horrigans

388/365: 'Love Lies Bleeding'... that's what I remember these being called when I was a child. I think their real name is 'Dicentra' or Bleeding Hearts - which always sounds like someone getting the wrong suit in a game of cards to me...

Card Player 1: What have you got?
Card Player 2: Bleeding Hearts.

Anyway... those names are nowhere near as romantic as I always imagined their other name to be when I was little. We never had any in our garden back then, but I do remember seeing them in other cottage gardens and always wanted to have them in mine. So, now I do. And I will blip them. And I will think impossibly, fairy-tale romantic thoughts about their name no matter what they're really called. :o)

Which is all an interesting diversion from my day which has been mainly spent in the garden again. Went to the garden centre first thing with Felix to get some labels for the veggie plot and a French Tarragon plant fell in my basket by mistake. Obviously it would have been rude *not* to buy it. So it's now sitting happily in my herb bed. And I've also planted my asparagus, red onions, carrots and leeks and will do a bit more digging of weeds tomorrow when my back's recovered! Yay for gardening. Especially gardening in the Spring sunshine. Blissful.

I also let people know that I was leaving my job - other than the official letting HR and my boss know plus a few close colleagues I haven't said much about it to others at work. I emailed them and had back 20+ really lovely messages which was both surprising and very sweet. I didn't want to make a big deal about leaving (am rubbish with goodbyes), so garden leave where I haven't had to explain over and over face-to-face when and where I'm going has been a relief. Still, I'm glad that bit's done and with only three days officially left, I'm nearly completely finished with my relationship with that Uni. Which feels a smidge weird.

Forgot to say, Felix wanted a little chess set today so for a couple of pounds I bought him a travel chess set at the garden centre. He has no idea how to play it but thinks it's called 'Jess' and has been telling everyone he's playing Jess. I wonder if Jess knows?!

PS Gotta go make din dins
PPS And then write a tutorial on a load of material I'm not familiar with
PPPS When what I'd rather be doing is catching up on people's blips.
PPPPS Might ask Jess. Surely she wouldn't mind doing some of the work for me. She's done enough playing today according to Felix...
