The Edge of the Wold

Lines

I travelled to Birmingham today for the last ever meeting of our group of national and regional colleagues before we disperse to new jobs and ventures. We have worked together intensively over the last few years on delivery of one of our biggest organisational targets.

The tradition that has evolved is a business session in the afternoon and another the following morning. In the evening there is a different sort of session that includes an enormous meal in the best curry house in the area. This evening we ventured to the Balti Triangle of Birmingham, where some of the most authentic Bangladeshi food is to be found.

A little sad that we have come to the end of the line and will never have the chance to work and play together again. The group had a special dynamic that you don't find very often, and the evening sessions provided a relief valve at times when the pressure was high.

The photo was taken in Lancaster station as I was waiting my connection to Birmingham. I don't often do black and white, but this railway scene somehow worked better in it.
