Thursday 24 March 2011: Rallying to the Black Prince

I was on strike for the second time in three days, this time as part of national action that saw the University and College Union membership from higher and further education out at the same time. That's around five hundred different universities and colleges. Details of the days actions nationwide can be found here, along with more on the UCU campaign against changes to our pension scheme, and threats to jobs.

After a stint on the picket line at Bradford, I went with colleagues over to the regional rally at Leeds City Square, where there were a good few hundred people from different Yorkshire HEIs and colleges, and plenty of student support.

This image captures a slice of the rally, under the imposing statue of the Black Prince.
