At home

Took the canvas chairs up to the winter pond today, balmy enough just to sit and take in the peace and quiet. Except the Sussex countryside is rarely totally quiet - the cows which were moved to a field behind the house yesterday are still moving steadily round the perimeter, mooing loudly. It usually lasts for about 24 hours and then they forget they are somewhere new and settle down to graze. Seems their 24 hours isn't quite up yet.

But up at the pond there was bird song all around us, a pheasant rasping somewhere just behind, a buzzard mewing overhead. And the sound of wild bees in the black thorn copse where we were sitting. Dozens of them, all excited to be out and about in the sunshine. Me too:)

Thank you all so much for sharing the excitement of my 100th blip the other day. Amazed at the number of congratulations, and still coming in. It's great fun to share all this with like minds :)
