Sunday 27 March 2011: A Fishy Tale
What a fabulous day!
Through a chance conversation with an angler during a dog walk, Chippy was told about a fishing club over the border in Scotland. He was told we would be welcome to take a walk there and we may see otters and kingfishers. Well, we didn't, but we had a wonderful day, walking round and chatting to the anglers.
I had never seen a fish being caught before but, by the time we were ready to leave, we had been given a gift of some lovely rainbow trout. We decided we should sort them out at Chippy's so tonight I learned how to gut a fish and how to fillet fish. I wanted to share the work.
As the perfect ending to the day, we had to cook some of them for our tea. Gorgeous!
I will remember this day for a long time. Complete strangers made us so welcome, offering us tea and biscuits and ultimately their day's catch! Thank you fellas!
This is Chippy's version of this view.
