Took the boy for a cycle along Cramond esplanade this morning while Mrs B swam and brunched in a relaxed manner with a friend. I say relaxed manner - we did have a classic 'why are some clocks saying 10:30 and some saying 9... oh bugger' moment first.

So we rode all the way to the warehouses, gas tower and more-than-slightly rundown strip before Granton harbour. The sky was a little disappointing and I wasn't getting much blip joy during our frequent biscuit stops. Six year olds talking with their mouths full and spraying crumbs everywhere do not make for endearing portraits.

We got to Granton however... where we found barbed wire entangled with shredded plastic, some sort of grain elevator and a fine looking gas tower - all manner of grungy shit. I could've stayed all day... although the boy has precious little patience for photography and I am not overly impressed with this either. It'll have to do.

In Granton though, the boy chirped up with 'This is my favourite part of the ride', apropos nothing.

Chip off the old block really.
