GUESS THE PLANT!

I've never been keen on gardening, always lived in apartments so haven't had a little plot to call my own, what we have had are several different pots dotted around with various green things sprouting from them. The photo is of one such green thing, it's been sitting in the same blue pot through several house moves and always looks at is best around this time of the year but to be honest I've know idea what its called so if any of you keen soil lovers out there in blip-land happen to know the name I'de be pleased to hear from you.
