Adega Perola
An old botequim I have discovered 5 minutes from the studio - it's been on the go for decades and has always been a meeting point for artists and intellectuals, although it's still very early for them to be out tonight! It specialises in choppe (a light and very refreshing draft beer) and petiscos (tapas) of which there are over 70! Last night I had cooked fish roe, baby potatoes with oil and onion dressing, sardines in 'escabeche' and purple-black olives so plump and ripe that they almost burst in your mouth, with just a hint of chili in the marinade! Tonight, right now, I've started with the house speciality of rollmops, and I'm eyeing up the octopus! And it's got wifi! Seventh heaven or what!
