Thursday 31 March 2011: The Duke

Going into it's 101st year, The Duke Of Yorks is the only cinema in Brighton that offers an enjoyable experience. I love the high kicking legs on the roof above the balcony where you can enjoy a drink before the main feature.

This evening, on a damp and foggy Brighton night, I went to see my first 3D movie. Herzog's "Cave of Forgotten Dreams" would have been a great documentary film about 32,000 year old cave painting, eight legged bison "proto-cinema" however, if I'm honest, the 3D got in the way. I like films old style, just like my cinemas.
