Friday 1 April 2011: Skinny Elvis
Actually, the title's unfair to this guy, who was not an Elvis impersonator, but had adopted some of his style: the glasses and the quiff are all he needed.
Whatever he was doing, it was working. He was the only guy in a group of about 15 girls, all of whom were hanging off his every word.
Good to see someone with enough confidence to stand out differently.
As I'm writing it's occurred to me that this look might be all the go in London and New York, but it's pretty unusual in downtown Lithgow, Australia.
I went to the Elvis Festival in Parkes a couple of years ago and those photos are here.
A lot more hard core Elvises. It was 43'C in the shade and there was a lot of sweating going on under those polyester wigs and pant suits.
