Saturday 2 April 2011: A question of balance...
400/365: ... between the kids today as well as for this little ladybird enjoying the afternoon April sunshine.
Maddy has been a small child-shaped hangover today after her sleepover last night. She enjoyed 'ALL of it!', maxed out on giggling, party food, dancing and a complete lack of sleep. She lasted for all of about 5 minutes once we left her friend's house before she conked out. Though she did squeeze in a bit of bickering with Felix as well as some tears before she dropped off.
This afternoon, I've pottered in the garden - put down some grass seed on the bare bits of lawn - did a bit of weeding with Felix, repotted a blueberry bush... y'know... pottered. And Maddy's slept. Thank goodness!
Wish I'd had the chance to sleep though because I've felt absolutely shattered today. First days in new jobs sure take it out of you... plus, that drive was horrible. And then I played bed tag with Felix during the night as I moved from one room to another to try to get some sleep... and he inevitably found me (he was a bit weirded out by Maddy not being here). At least we'll have our bedroom back tonight as Nick's finished decorating (yay!!!) and the horrible double mattress we've been sleeping on in the living room can go back into the basement.
Urk... the kids have just said that they've been planting seeds. Goodness only knows what a mess awaits...
Better go look...
*covers eyes and peeks out slowly*
PS We're having an 'indoor barbecue' for dinner today
PPS Which just means that I'm cooking everything on the griddle in the kitchen
PPPS And hoping it placates the kids who I told would be having a BBQ outdoors... then discovered we hadn't got any charcoal. Whoopsie!!
PPPPS Oooooh! Blip 400!!!! Flippin' heck! I know it's an un-blipday, but wowsers! Am into the 400s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*promptly has her sack of exclamation marks confiscated and slopes off*
