Saturday 2 April 2011: Signalling Failure
We had a brilliant day out today, running in the Erskine Urban Race, a fiendishly excellent course much enjoyed by us both. Tony came 5th and I came 8th. Unfortunately it all went belly up just before Haymarket on the train back into Edinburgh from Glasgow. Apparently mysterious red lights were stopping us from proceeding, then just after Haymarket, signals started going bonkers (too late now to hop off at Haymarket and walk to Waverley) so we spent 35 minutes in a tunnel being very stiff-upper lipped, then we were off again only to stop about 500 metres before Waverley in Princes Street Gardens (due to no available platforms!) where I had much opportunity to view the castle from this angle, for some considerable time.....
22:39, beans on toast, cup of tea, home! Still had a brilliant day and Erskine rocks! Thankyou CLYDE orienteering club.
