Sunday

there were riding plans for the morning but the alarm once snoozed, was never heard again...they eyes opened much later in the day, to bright daylight. I generally give my fellow riders a wake up call on ride mornings. My riding buddy switched his alarm off and went back to sleep, hoping that I would wake him up any minute. Today it was more about food all day long. A simple yet delicious fish curry meal made for a perfect Sunday lunch.

A little bit of shopping was followed by a Thai dinner, after a long time. The restaurant was aptly lit and not crowded at all. The food was ordered and it arrived surprisingly sooner that it was expected. I wanted to wait for the food a little bit longer but it came even before we had started talking. It was fresh and hot. The Thai chicken curry was good - the right amount spice with the mild sweetness and flavor of fresh coconut milk. The spice was hot and tangy at the same time...all the flavors blended into perfection, without interfering with each other. The quantity of the portion was just right to satisfy the hunger and still leave space for the incredible ice-cream that followed. The Thai sweetness and tangy-ness had disappeared but the spice was still lingering on. With the first spoon of chocolate fudge, brownie and crushed choco-chip, the last bit of spiciness disappeared into oblivion. It was a perfect contrast and complement to the dinner - couldn't have asked for anything better.
