Sunday 3 April 2011: Implanted

Mary keeps these tubs outside our church looking lovely all through the year - despite the best efforts of the weather and the members of York society who mistake them for ashtrays or rubbish bins.

Mary is a wonderful mum - both to her two adult daughters and to anyone who needs a bit of 'mumming'. Including me on occasion. So I thought I'd blip one of her tubs today as a bit of a tribute to her.

Then I noticed the implanted rose - which I'm guessing is one of those that were given to all the women in two of our services today. As much of Mary's temporary mumming is for people who have been implanted into our city - a bit rootless and without much natural support - I thought it was quite appropriate.
