Spring returns!

Sunday
After about a week of unseasonably cold weather and mainly grey skies, Spring returned today, and after a cool start the temperatures rose nicely under sunshine and blue skies. After our usual morning at church, we had a quick lunch, and Roger called his Mum to wish her a Happy Mothers Day, then we headed downtown. We were going to a concert at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral at 3pm, but first we wanted to enjoy the sunshine taking a walk through the International Friendship Park by the Ohio river, where I took this blip. You can see previous shots of the park taken at different times of the year here and here. The concert was the Choir of St. John's College Cambridge, and was just wonderful. The concert was followed by a reception where we had the opportunity to chat with several of the undergraduate choral students. Cincinnati is the first stop on their tour - they go on to give performances in Akron (northern Ohio); St. Louis, Missouri; Houston and Austin in Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; and finally New York. By the time we got home it was about 6pm, but still warm and sunny, so we decided to go for a bike ride on the bike trail - my first bike ride of the season - Roger had already been for a couple of short local rides on the odd warm days we've had. We just did 10 miles - that was plenty for me, being my first ride in I don't know how many months - probably 4 or 5! Altogether a lovely day!
