OLD IRIS

This is a blossom from iris plants which have existed in the same spot for at least 60 years. We know because the place was unoccupied for 40 years and a nephew of the former owner, now in his 60s, says they've always been here. They grow above a stone wall in front of the house and tower above the road below.

Feeling too peely wally to venture far from the old homestead today. Impending guests do wonders for getting gates painted and houses cleared and spiffed up but I'm overdrawn at the energy bank.

The original of this pic looked so much better on the computer screen than the sharpened Blip version that I have gone back to the un-faffed one. Both fuzz up on my browser. Sigh.

For the record: +18 Haar or sea fog. Humidity 80%
