Monday 4 April 2011: Fairy tale castle?
Well, it has the look of one, doesn't it? With the ancient tree in the foreground. You can imagine all sorts of strange stories. Folk tales, or more modern stories of schools for wizards, or battles between good and evil. Except it's close to the centre of the city, on a major bus route. It's all about John Szarkowski's five elements (isn't it always?) - the Thing Itself, the Detail, Time, the Frame and the Vantage Point. From the same spot and in a different moment the frame would have been filled with a number 26 bus.
