Kinda Horrigans

Monday 4 April 2011: Bright starts and hopeful promise...

402/365: Rudely shattered by the morning commute from hell. These are the things which give Monday a bad name. Yes, Monday, I'm talking to you.

Bleh.

Got stuck in traffic coming out of Nottingham - thanks to a sadistic sat nav which thinks sending me into stationary traffic is funny. Then got stuck in traffic in Chesterfield - thanks to the coning off of one lane for miles... just so three men could stand and look at a tree almost at the point where all the cones stopped. Then got stuck in traffic going into Sheffield - thanks to the saying that these things come in threes.

AAAAAARGH!

Had a minor panic about the commute by the time I reached Chesterfield and had to give myself a stern talking to about it all. Two hours to drive to work. Aaaaaargh!!!!

Fortunately, work turned out to be good once I'd installed a cup of caffeine into my face. Had some chats to get to know people. Collected my parking permit. Kicked my email into submission so that I could actually do some work (where work equals the painful process of trying to do *anything* at all in a new job and you have no idea who, what, where or why things are the way they are). Didn't manage to stop for lunch... headed off just before 5... and miraculously the commute home took 45 minutes less than the drive in. Despite me taking a longer route. Weirdness!

Monday - go and stand in the naughty corner.

I can't figure you out.

PS And this image is what is fondly known as 'my car is stuck in traffic and this is the only chance all day when I'll have chance to take a pic... SNAP!' photography.
PPS It's a whole new genre.
PPPS I'm patenting it. It will make me my fortune!! *cackles madly*
PPPPS I think I may be over-tired...
