Monday 4 April 2011: Complicated

Today started with my monthly blood test to check that the maintenance medicine I take for my colitis isn't messing too badly with my immune system or liver function and finished with a six-monthly check up with my gastroenterologist in Cambridge.

The gastroenterologist is happy that my colitis is still seven years in remission after an appallingly bad 2010 during which we thought it was flaring. After three courses of steroids and a horrible medicine that made me constantly nauseous, my colitis flare was in fact diagnosed as fibromyalgia. I won't bore you with all the details, but if you should for some reason be interested, my blog, which is even more neglected than it used to be since I found Blipfoto, has a few posts about it all. My husband chuckled when the consultant's main consideration for my management strategy is the fact that I'm 'complicated'. I go back to see him on 28 March 2012 - all being well in the meantime.

My blip plan, following discussions with Powercut, who seems to have become my Blipfoto partner in crime, was to take a picture of the hospital where I see my consultant. I had for some reason thought that the building was prettier than it actually is, so instead we parked behind the Backs (so-called because it is literally the grounds at the back of a number of Cambridge colleges) so I could take some pictures of King's College Chapel. This was my favourite.
