Wednesday 6 April 2011: Blip and fly butterfly

I spotted the small tortoiseshell sunbathing on a daffodil while I was gazing out of the kitchen window. I grabbed the camera and ran out in my bare feet - no time to put shoes on - I was sure it would fly off before I got there. It stayed and posed for about 30 seconds and then fluttered away. Blip in the bag before 9 a.m. and just as the clouds cleared giving way to the sun and a temperature which has already reached 20 degrees C - tropical stuff!
Have a great Wednesday everyone.
