Thursday 7 April 2011: YOU CAN'T

....make an omelette without breaking eggs.

Unfortunately, my brain tends to work, most of the time, on a punishment and reward system. This means that once home from work I won't allow myself to 'enjoy' myself until I have completed all my chores. Today, however, upon getting home from work I only had three quick chores to complete (retrieve the wheelie bin from the place where it had been deposited by the collection men, feed the cat and then throw the washing in the machine) and so I was able to pick up my camera and meander down the lane for some much needed sunshine.

It was glorious as the sky was a clear blue and although there was a breeze it wasn't too cold. The grass has now turned back to green and, already, one or two buttercup type flowers (I'm never sure of their exact nomenclature) have pushed through the earth.

I found this broken egg on the grass verge and it can only have been laid by one of my neighbour's domestic ducks. It is a shame that all her hard work came to nothing.
