Ready to launch

The boy Tom reached his last day of term and we got to school early enough for a little bit of swinging. Climbing trees and hurling yourself around on ropes is big on the school's curriculum, unlike the dull stuff like, say, reading, writing and sums. There's plenty of time for that stuff next year...

The physical stuff is great for our boy because - cue serious bit - a fair bit of damage was done to his core stability and muscle tone (amongst other things) as a result of a bout of meningitis five years ago. This leaping about and comfort with tree climbing has taken some getting to and we're more than happy with his school's focus on physical development ahead of all that book learnin'.

After Easter Tom moves in to 'transition' - preparating for August and Class One.

Excited with a degree of trepidation probably sums it up - not unlike this shot.
