Doing Things Differently

We had a cracking start to our Lake District holiday today. Setting off early from Leeds, we hit Keswick before lunch. After parking up outside the house we'd rented, we walked into the town. First stop was the Four In Hand, cunningly situated in Lake Road where you also find Rohan and George Fisher. Jenning's Snecklifter and hot beef baguettes got us ready for a wander round these and other shops. At the Saturday Market we found the Cartmel Cheese stall. The guy behind the counter was so friendly and we bought four delicious samples for tea.

In my previous Magnolia Blip I mentioned that one of our favourite things to do in Keswick is an evening walk up Springs Road. After cheese and wine we headed out into the twilight. This is one of the views from the walk. You can just see Bassenthwaite on the far right.

More Lakes photos will be added to my Flickr Photostream.
