Saturday 9 April 2011: Wool
Every time we arrive in Malawi, as if by radar, this lovely lady, Loveness Mbizi, finds us within a few days. She knows we bring knitting wool and her son arrives with her, you see she is blind. She has two other children, one with her Mama and one in an orphan care.
She wasn't blind from birth and she can knit beautifully, taught by the nuns, the Medical Missionary sisters, who gave her a house in 1999 and who also taught her perfect English which is of great benifit to her now.
She will arrive about every two weeks while we are here, for the wool, a little food and copies and pens for her son who is so good to her.
A new experience every day; that's Malawi
