Cramond Brig

This beautiful three-arched brig was built around 1500 and then repaired extensively in 1615 to 1617. It hasn't been used by vehicular traffic for a few years now, but is still accessible to walkers and cyclists. The banks have a good carpet of wild garlic or ramsons at the moment.

King James V was attacked on this bridge and rescued by a local farmer called Jock Howieson. The fishing pool upstream is named after this farmer.

A beautiful day's weather in Edinburgh today and more of the same tomorrow I think.
