Sunday 17 February 2008: Ben Ledi

Over to the Trossachs for a bimble up Ben Ledi, a lovely rugged hill which due to an unfortunate accident of geology is just short of Munro status.

However its proximity to the tourist trap of Callendar means it is not neglected, and in fact the world and his dog(s) were up there today.

Unfortunately my dog wasn't - thought it might be a bit much for his stitches. A lovely day out with an old friend and a new one.

The cross is a memorial for Police Sgt. Harry Lawrie (BEM), killed in a helicopter crash on Ben More, February 1st 1987, during a callout for Killin mountain rescue.
