Sunday 10 April 2011: Chandeliers
Headed over to the Chihuly exhibit today as planned.
His work was just as I remember it - stunning. I spent quite a while lying on the floor under the persian ceiling, and as always I admire his baskets more than almost anything else. I would love to own one of them - they're so beautiful.
Except, of course, what you see here. The chandeliers. I remember having a long conversation with a security guard at the de Young in 2008 about how they ship his works and assemble them, especially the Chandeliers. They are all so beautiful and fragile, it's hard to imagine how they travel anywhere.
I loved this one. I love it all. I explored the rest of the MFA, but came back through the Chihuly exhibit three times.
Weather was inestimably beautiful, as well.
