Fall on me

The Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi or Fountain of the Four Rivers in Piazza Navona, Rome. It was designed in 1651 by the artist and sculptor Gianlorenzo Bernini - legend has it that he positioned the Rio de la Plata (River Plate) as a joke at the expense of his rival, the architect Francesco Borromini. The Rio de la Plata statue has its hand raised protectively towards the facade of the church of Sant'Agnese (designed by Borromini) as though the edifice is about to crumble. The legend is supposedly untrue (Borromini didn't start to design the church until a few years after the fountain was completed) but I'd like to think Bernini had some sort of advance notice.
