Tuesday 12 April 2011: Red dahlia late afternoon
Glowing red dahlia in the late afternoon sun. Much maligned dahlias haven't been popular for years, yet they are beautiful colours in all the pinks, yellows, reds, and oranges, along with white.
They also come in many many different types and many different styles of petals.
They also come to their peak when most other flowers are past their best, and brighten the garden in autumn.
