Newcastle Downunder

Going home

This view is on my way home from work (if I go the long way round) and on a direct route if I am going home from a dog park. It is a view from the Bar Beach car park looking towards Merewether Beach over Bar Beach and Dixon Park Beach.

Newcastle's beaches are a secret which we Novacastrians like to keep to ourselves. Newcastle was known for its steelmaking (Steel City) before the steelworks closed and as a coal port. In reality, it has an easy lifestyle and contains many wonderful beaches and surfing would have to be a prime sport here. I don't surf!

It was a shame I did not go there yesterday as the sunset was truly spectacular. This one is not too bad though.
