Tuesday 12 April 2011: Ekaiweni preschool

The local women tried this two years ago but the project failed due to lack of training and support.
Mary began this process last week when we arrived. The pic shows Casca with the little ones, the guinea pigs for the training of five local women who have volunteered their services to the community as caregivers.
I?m sure it?s the first time she gave a training course to an audience as not only did the older children arrive: so did grannies, granddads, mothers, fathers, friends and neighbours and even the chief, to be part of the fun and roleplay involved.
This is a no money operation where the community just do it themselves with a little help. These women will be empowered to make huge leaps forward over the next few weeks.
Development at its best.

Oh! I forgot the other twin yesterday.
