Coronation Stone, Kingston - Edward the Elder

The oldest thing in Kingston-upon-Thames is surely this Coronation Stone, now outside the Guildhall. It's set on a seven-sided plinth, one ofr each fo the seven Saxon kings crowned at Kingston. This face is Edward the Elder, crowned at Kingston in 900.

Kingston has a very full history. after the last of the Saxon kings was crowned, then came the railway...
