Flood Relic

April has got to be the best month for weather in Brisbane. The temperature is in the mid 20's most days and there is usually very little wind. Nice weather for a ride on a motorcycle. This morning I decided to stop at this corner in the Brisbane river to take a few photos.

This sunken yacht is pretty much all that remains to be seen of the recent floods we had here in Brisbane. It didn't actually sink during the floods. If that had happened it would have washed away. Instead, the battering it took while the floods were on took their toll. One morning about a month ago it had decided to sink overnight.

Ironically when I came by this evening there was a salvage crew in a motorboat next to the sunken yacht. I suspect they will fill it with air and re-float it and remove it. If nothing else it is a navigation hazard.
