Spring Poppy

I've spent most of the day report writing. At least the weather's been cool and grey - and hasn't tempted me away from the laptop too much!! I did get out in in the garden for a while, feeding and moving the chickens, who are now fully recovered, and weeding the rockery. It was already infested with bindweed when we bough the house, and every year it seems to get worse. I swear this year it's growing faster than we can pull it up!

So today it's an emergency cat blip... This is Poppy, one of the three female kitten siblings we acquired over five years ago. She tends to be quite camera shy, but with a 300mm lens I was sufficiently far away that she didn't notice what I was up to. She's incredibly soppy and docile, and can be draped anywhere like a rag doll. Despite this, she has a mean predatory streak, specialising in pigeons and doves. The slightly dreamy look in her eye is probably a result of the catnip she'd just been eating!
