100 years old and partying

Here we have my centenarian father and a neighbour in her early 90s. The sitting room was full of friends and neighbours chatting away and happily drinking champagne and eating little bits of stuff. The oldest guest was 100 and 8 months, she lives down the road in a house that my paternal grandmother lived in to the age of 91. There must be something about our road!

Yesterday my father was thoroughly miserable with a bad cold, today he wasn't bad at all, just a very deep husky voice. He enjoyed his birthday greatly. The card from the Queen arrived, and so did what passes for a telegram from the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Ian Duncan Smith, not a decorative one, mind you, a photo of him wouldn't really be what you wanted would it...
