Friday 15 April 2011: At last!
I've been trying to get a decent picture of a hawk for yonks. had the perfect shot yesterday - sunshine , on a fence post, perfect but of course as soon as I stopped car it flew away. This one however just carried on eating the Weka road kill. I pulled on to the side of the road, changed lens and started snapping - from inside the car, tipping it down with rain and wipers going full on. Then edged closer until finally I must have been within about 30ft of him. All the pictures are crap cos of the weather and through a windscreen but I like this one - beady eyes or what?
