Thornbridge Brewery

The picture you see here was taken at the Riverside Business Park on the outskirts of Bakewell.
It houses a very diverse range of businesses including a design company, a company making luxury wooden huts and the Bakewell pudding bakery.
During the war it was used to make batteries for submarines.
It is also home to the Thornbridge brewery.
A relative newcomer in the brewing stakes its beer has accumulated a raft of awards and continues going from strength to strength.
On the subject of strength check out their delicious Jaipur beer at 5.9% an Indian Pale ale that esteemed drinks writer Oz Clark claimed to be his favourite tipple.
I agree wholeheartedly with Oz, its delicious as are all there beers.
We are very lucky to have such a fantastic brewery on our doorstep and its great to be able to pop into their on site shop and buy it from there.
If you can't manage this you can now purchase their beers in Waitrose. Try them out they may not be the cheapest beers you'll ever buy they are up there with the most delicious you'll ever drink.
