ROOM WITH AN APRIL VIEW

I know, it's almost a signature shot. It's the last window in the house with a view and it's from the sitting room rather than the bedroom above. You have to stand up to see it. The smoke is from a fire where somebody is burning the branches pruned from their olive trees. The big villa belongs to a cunning professor of law.

It was tempting to do the camellia, instead, because it is mind-crashing beautiful, but maybe tomorrow. Guests do not leave a lot of space for inventive shots and we will have those tomorrow.

We are back to an April as in days of yore. Cold and wet. There is something about Easter that brings out the worst in spring weather. The priest was round yesterday to bless the house (collect church funds) and that guy is really bad news, a rain maker if there ever was one.

For the record: +10 Cloudy and damp. Humidity 86%
