The Edge of the Wold

Morning light

The view from Arnside Knott shortly after sunrise. Low whale-back wooded hills receding towards Ingleborough.

I had trouble sleeping so I though I might as well get up and see the dawn. I was hoping to take a photo of morning light on the cowslip field at Heathwaite, but the sun was hidden by trees and the cowslips are still tiny.

An early blip this evening before we set off to Yorkshire to pick up our nephews who will be staying with us for a few days over Easter.

ps After posting this, we heard a cuckoo calling on Arnside Knott (118 for the year list). They never stay long on the Knott, there's no meadow pipits to nest parasitise.
